As a reminder we are holding a General Membership Open House on Saturday, February 12th at The New Maggie’s Bar and Grill, 442 Hackensack Street, Carlstadt, NJ. The festivities will start at 2 p.m. with live music by Grafton Street, featuring Dean Dobbs and Kevin Behan, performing Irish and American traditional tunes.
In addition to enjoying some great music and the company of fellow members and friends, we will also be distributing Post-Parade Party wristbands to members in good standing between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. To stay an active member of the RIAA, all members who have joined prior to June 1, 2021, are required to renew their dues in the amount of $25.00.
To ensure that our active members can be accommodated, members will be given priority to the Post-Parade Party on a first-come, first-served basis with an initial limit of one wristband per active member at a rate of $40.00. Due to the limited space, and the need to make sure the distribution of the wristbands is done in a fair and equitable manner, we will not be accepting any “pre-orders” and will only commence sales in-person at the Open House. We will accept cash, checks and debit/credit cards on the day of the distribution.
We understand that some members may not be able to be present for the sale and, as such, will allow another active member to act as a surrogate and purchase a wristband on behalf of another active member. It’s important to emphasize that wristbands will be sold to active members only, are non-transferable, and lost wristbands will not be replaced, so treat them as “gold”.
To the extent that wristbands may still be available after accommodating our membership, we intend to make those remaining wristbands available for purchase by members for family and friends, 21 years and older, on a first-come, first-served basis at a higher non-member rate of $50.00. Information regarding a subsequent sale will be made via email and our Facebook page once we are certain that our members have been accommodated.
As you may recall, the price of admission to the RIAA tent includes beer/wine, entertainment and food from approximately 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. While the RIAA tent will be adjacent to one operated by the Blarney Station, access to the RIAA tent will be restricted to RIAA members and their guests 21 years and older who have purchased a wristband through our association for the RIAA tent, and wristbands will not be sold the day of the parade.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire RIAA membership, I look forward to your cooperation as we move closer to a fun-filled day on March 6, 2022!
Thank you,
Paddy Bonner RIAA President
Members in good standing are now able to purchase wristbands to the RIAA post parade tent for their non-member guests at a rate of $50. Very limited quantities remain and will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. These will sell out fast! As such, one member will only be able to purchase a maximum of two (2) non-member wristbands. Please email RutherfordIrishAmericans@gmail.com with your request. One of our board members will reply to confirm the availability for your reservation or regretfully inform you we have sold out. Payment and pick-up information will be forthcoming at that point. As a reminder, the RIAA Post Parade Tent is a private event, access to which will be restricted to RIAA members and their guest, 21 years and older, who have purchased a "gold" RIAA wristband through our association. RIAA wristbands will not be sold the day of the parade. As was the case in 2020, the adjacent Blarney Station tent will be open to the public.
